Wacky Washington Health Care Emporium

Congress is having a tough time selling health care to the people, so we thought we’d give them a little help.

  3. Now that Olberman is officially against the healthcare legislation as it is…he’ll probably NEVER admit that the election of the Socialist or Communist; or whatever you want to call him, Obama to the Presidency was the WRONG decision in the first place! Amazing!

Another clueless attack on the only attempt to fix our healthcare problem before it bites us in the a**. Easy to attack other people’s solutions when you don’t have any of your own. Healthcare currently consumes 30% of our GNP and by coincidence, insurance companies take 30% of our premium dollars. The real irony is that mandated health insurance was a Republican idea before the Democrats incorporated it. Why do so many people who believe in mandated auto insurance have such a problem with mandated health insurance?

  7. Brett

You’re a little off on your numbers. It actually consumes 15%, and the part that’s on government-run Medicare consumes more than twice that of those on private insurers. Insurance companies make 3.5% profit.

    @Jumping-

You don’t have to buy auto insurance if you don’t want to own a vehicle.

If mandates were supported by some Republican members (ie: Pawlenty, Romney) they’re the ones who’ll pay for it at the polls. However, ever Dem who supported it will pay dearly as well.
Many people, especially conservatives on either side of the political spectrum, are well aware of the fools who advocated mandatory insurance & its consequences.
This approach encroaches on our constitutional freedoms & opens up a whole new can of worms allowing for more egregious infringements by an ever expansive, power hungry, and overbearing gov’t.
Healthcare premiums will not go down either – heck, Durbin even stated that. Nothing bi-partison was addressed – at least not the important issues which would’ve allowed for reduced costs, accessibility, fraud/waste mgmt. & Tort reform.
Furthermore, quality and quantity of care will not improve, many will still be without insurance, more job losses will occur, taxes will markedly increase on every one/everything, and meanwhile the deficit will skyrocket.
This plan was meant to usher in their trojan horse policy of socialized medicine – and it’ll come sooner than anyone thinks.
By then we’ll be used to being treated like cattle – long lines/waits, limited/rationed supplies, limited doctors, nurses, limited hospitals, clinics, practices – we’ll be talking about “the good ole’ days soon enough.

Now, liberals write that health care is 30% of the economy (It’s been 16% for years). Obama, on Friday, said that there were 50 million uninsured Americans until last week. He had been saying 30 million (including more than half illegal aliens) previously.

So much for hope and change and a pot-partisan leader.

Obama shouts and lies more than any POTUS in history.

I Wish they’d “appropriated” more stuff from “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure!”

    retarded. not even funny!

  13. Demobust

GENUINE health care reform would have included: (1) medical Tort reform to lessen frivolous lawsuits by having the loser pay ALL cost of litigation. (2)Expand availability and portability of health insurances by adopting a national rather than state regulation for such operations (3) create a catastrophic insurance pool or exchange to pay for serious medical conditions which insureds can not pay (4) repeal the fringe benefit aspect of employer sponsored health care there releasing the public and regulators to police the insurance industry (5) A bankruptcy regulation which limits claims created health care expenses – essentially protecting the debtor’s loss of homestead and retirement savings in bankruptcy -THESE are CONSERVATIVE IDEAS on health care reform.

If you call this mess a “solution,” I really don’t know what to say. The government has NEVER run anything effectively or efficiently. Why do you trust them so much? They have done nothing to earn that trust.

This entire legislation is an attack on the limited powers enumerated in the constitution. You know what that is don’t you? That document that use to mean something prior to this administrations efforts to render it meaningless.

I’m going to download this and play it in the reception area of my medical office. My poor patients seem to have no idea what’s coming down the pike. Jlp deserves Obamacare.

Christ, are Yanks really that retarded that they’ll believe this bunch of slanted rubbish? Guess the stereotype of the stoopid, as well as the ugly, American really does have some truth in it. For the “gubbermint can’t do anything” brigade, look up the percentage of admin costs to total costs comparing Medicaid/care to the private insurers, and then tell me how happy you are to give your “tax dollars” to the nice people at AIG. You know they’ll use it wisely and won’t waste it!

    Retards.

  18. Fred

Guess this explains why the Republicans are now overwhelmingly the party of the old, white and, significantly, uneducated. At least you know your audience.

  19. Brett

Fred, I love your self-confidence despite your lack of grammar and spelling skills. I also admire your mastery of the insult for the poor uninformed country of America. However, you should try comparing Medicaid/care admin costs using actual math. Medicare admin costs are higher per person than private care. If you look at the percentage of total costs then you’re comparing apples and oranges. Medicare patient costs are much higher per person because they’re elderly, disabled, or with end-stage renal disease. Comparing admin costs to total costs then is meaningless. Per person, even though they have fewer costs than private insurers, government admin costs more.

Get a life! Go find your own birth certificate because Obama’s has been around a long time for you to see. Are you just blind or plain ignorant? Live long on a great start to fixing healthcare!
